Welcome to Guide to Giant Trees of Japan (“we,” “our,” or “the Site”). These Terms of Subscription govern your access to and use of our subscription-based services. By subscribing to any of our offerings, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
1. Our Services
We offer two distinct subscription programs:
A. Explorer of Giant Trees of Japan
This subscription is for individuals who wish to explore Japan’s most magnificent and sacred trees. It provides access to curated content for specific regions or as a lifetime package, including:
Maps and directions to tree locations
Tree species information and measurements
Historical, cultural, and ecological background
Photographs, seasonal notes, and tips for visiting
Reflections on the spiritual and emotional dimensions of giant trees
This subscription is intended for personal exploration and education only. It does not qualify the subscriber as a professional guide.
B. Guide to Giant Trees of Japan
This service is for individuals who wish to become certified guides and share the experience of forest immersion with others. It includes:
Enrollment in the Shinrin Yoku (Forest Bathing) Guide Training Program
The program is offered through The Mindful Tourist School (TMT), accredited by the Shinrin Yoku Association (SYA) under Global Institute of Nature Connectedness (GINC)
A comprehensive curriculum covering nature connection practices, forest therapy methodology, ethics, guiding techniques, and regional knowledge
Required assignments, practicum, and final assessments
Successful completion may lead to official certification, allowing the subscriber to offer guided Shinrin Yoku sessions and interpret the sacred trees of Japan professionally.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to subscribe.
For the Guide program, you must meet any prerequisites listed in the training program description and agree to abide by the Code of Ethics for Guides.
You are responsible for ensuring that all information provided during registration is accurate and current.
3. Subscription Types and Payment
Explorer Subscriptions are available by region (e.g., Hokkaido, Kansai, etc.) or as a one-time lifetime access to all content.
Guide Subscriptions are structured as one-time tuition for the full training program and available by region.
Payment Terms:
All payments must be made in full at the time of subscription.
Prices are listed in USD and include applicable taxes unless otherwise noted.
We accept payments via secure processors (e.g., Stripe, PayPal, credit/debit card).
All sales are final and non-refundable, except in the case of duplicate charges or technical failure to deliver access.
4. Access and Use
Access to digital content or training materials will be provided after successful payment.
Subscriptions are for individual use only. Account sharing or unauthorized distribution of materials is strictly prohibited.
We reserve the right to terminate access if misuse or violation of these terms is detected.
5. Certification Disclaimer (Guide Subscribers Only)
Certification is granted only upon full completion of all program requirements.
Enrollment does not guarantee certification.
We reserve the right to withhold certification if ethical standards or assessment criteria are not met.
6. Intellectual Property
All content, including text, images, maps, videos, training materials, and downloadable files, is the property of Guide to Giant Trees of Japan and/or its content creators and partners. You may not copy, distribute, modify, or commercially exploit any content without express written permission.
7. Modifications and Availability
We may update or enhance our content and training offerings at any time to ensure continued relevance and quality.
We will notify you of significant changes that affect your access or experience.
In the event of long-term discontinuation of the service, reasonable efforts will be made to preserve access or provide alternative arrangements for active subscribers.
8. Limitation of Liability
We are not responsible for:
Natural conditions, trail safety, or personal injuries incurred during visits to tree locations
Access issues caused by incorrect login credentials or internet connectivity
Any losses due to misuse of content or misinterpretation of ecological or spiritual information
